Monique has married her passion for helping people successfully age in place with professional certifications resulting in a career tailoring homes to meet the individual and evolving needs of their owners. She brings that expertise to her real estate practice situated in Savannah and serving all of coastal Georgia. Monique has Certified Aging-In-Place (CAPS) certification and an Executive Certificate in Home Modifications from the Ethel Percy Andrus Gerontology Center at the University of Southern California. She served as the Vice-chair of the Atlanta Chapter of the National Aging in Place Council (NAIPC), whose mission is to educate and advocate for successful aging in place, and was co-chair of the membership committee. Also known as “the Lift Lady”, Monique has over 27 years of experience in the construction industry. She began in the elevator and stairlift industry in 1993 and gained valuable knowledge about building processes as a construction manager. She is a Georgia-certified Class 1 Elevator Mechanic and in addition to her real estate practice owns and operates Shooting Star Lifts providing consulting, specification, and installation of in-home elevators throughout coastal Georgia. Her passion for serving others extends beyond her work. She volunteered with the Veteran’s National Wheelchair Games and at the 1996 Paralympics. She has also worked on accessibility projects with Engage Atlanta, Operation Homefront and Sunshine on a Ranney Day. Monique is also a real estate investor, owning and managing multiple rental properties.
